- Definining relative clauses give neccessary information about the relative word
- They are introduced by Who (for persons) /Which (for things) /That (persons and things
- They have no commas around
- The relative pronoum can be omitted when it is not subject
Examples:
- The woman who/that lives by me is English
- The woman who/ that I live with is my mother
- The woman I live with is my mother
- Cars which/that are double parked will be fined
